Spring has sprung

We are all fed up lately with mother nature. This feels like the longest winter we have ever had here in the northeast, but Spring is on the verge of making it's grand entrance. Yes, you heard it here! When it comes, it's going to be a show stopper. So, to get started, we decided to have spring come now...in the store. We have been busy cleaning and rearranging, but best of all we got in our first shipment of fresh flowers. They are spectacular! Every Friday at the store, we do what we call, "fresh flower Fridays."

The most spectacular garden rose we have EVER seen!

They come delivered by early afternoon, and are put out in buckets for you to pick by the stem. Then, as if it can't get any better, they get wrapped in brown paper and a bow, just like at a French market! Every week it changes, but we try to keep a core of the flowers the same. Hydrangeas, at least one type of rose, hypericum berries, and bells of Ireland are our constants. (You can't be in the "Irish Riviera" and not have bells of Ireland) Then we will add other things to that list. I am especially excited because my favorite flower will be out soon...PEONIES!
Flowers on a nightstand
We don't tout ourselves a florist, but if you bring us in your vase or favorite container, we will make up an arrangement for you.  It is amazing how a cute arrangement next to your bed or on your kitchen table will brighten up your home.  Whenever I bring an arrangement home, it makes me feel cheery and it gives me a little cleaning bug as well!
The other great thing about Spring, is that you can "force" branches to bloom. My 3 favorites are cherry blossom, apple blossom, and magnolias. The best part is that these branches can usually last for about 2 weeks or more, which is great compared to flowers. We just got a shipment of cherry blossom branches, so come on in and start up your Spring!

Buckets of flowers every Friday for the entire summer.
